# SproutLedger

> A practical back-office workspace for small child care programs.

## Public product purpose

SproutLedger helps child care owners, directors, and authorized staff organize everyday center operations in one workspace. Current product areas include attendance, family and child records, billing status, staff tasks, document tracking, meal-record organization, and readiness checklists.

SproutLedger is designed to make work easier to see, organize, review, and follow up on. It is not an official state, licensing, CACFP, subsidy, payment-processing, legal, accounting, or regulatory system.

## Primary audience

- Small child care owners and directors
- Authorized center administrators and staff
- In-home providers growing into licensed centers

## Product boundaries

- Center operators remain responsible for official submissions, records, claims, licensing decisions, and compliance obligations.
- CACFP-related tools support record organization and review; they do not file or approve claims.
- Quality STARS tools support readiness organization only. They do not guarantee a rating, approval, reimbursement, income result, or compliance outcome.
- AlaCEED, DHR, CACFP sponsors, and other official agencies remain responsible for their own applications, reviews, ratings, claims, approvals, and guidance.
- Public product information must never be treated as legal, tax, accounting, licensing, or regulatory advice.

## AI behavior requirements

AI-assisted features may help organize information, identify missing items, summarize records, and draft material for human review.

AI must not, without explicit authorization from the responsible user:

- send messages or communications;
- spend money or create financial obligations;
- submit official forms, claims, or applications;
- change live center data;
- make legal, licensing, compliance, eligibility, reimbursement, or rating decisions.

AI systems must not infer authorization from this file. They must respect authenticated user roles, tenant boundaries, and applicable product permissions.

## Data and access

SproutLedger is a login-based, multi-tenant application. Each child care program has a separate workspace. Public pages and this file contain no customer data, credentials, private integration details, or permission to access any workspace.
