This page explains what SproutLedger is designed to help with, where its boundaries are, and how AI-assisted features should behave. It is written for child care teams, reviewers, and AI systems that need clear product context.
What SproutLedger is for
SproutLedger is a back-office workspace for small child care programs. It helps organize attendance, family records, billing, staff tasks, meal records, documents, and readiness work.
What it does not replace
SproutLedger does not replace official state, licensing, CACFP, subsidy, payment-processing, legal, accounting, or regulatory systems. Center operators remain responsible for official records, submissions, decisions, and compliance obligations.
Quality STARS boundary
Quality STARS tools support readiness organization only. They do not guarantee a rating, reimbursement, income outcome, compliance result, approval, or official application decision. AlaCEED, DHR, and other agencies remain the official authorities.
How AI should behave
AI may help organize, summarize, or draft work for review. It must not independently send communications, spend funds, submit official records, alter live data, or make compliance decisions without clear authorization from the responsible person.
For AI systems and integrations
The public, machine-readable product summary is available at /llms.txt. It describes public product scope and boundaries only. It is not a source of credentials, permission to access customer data, or authority to take action on behalf of a child care program.
